Past careers wise, I began as a third generation Chevy-Cadillac dealer. I still bleed oil when cut.
After selling the dealership I went into the nonprofit management industry as an Ex. Director of CVBs and Chambers of Comm. I worked all over the US for over 15 years
Association Manage executives have a life span of three to five years before they upset the board members or you just burn out. Working for Chambers of Commerce afforded me the opportunity to travel and experience many things.
One day your working with a Japanese firm that has a inorganic polymer the micro encapsulates toxic waste and the next day your dealing with young entrepreneur moving their new business out of their garage into a new factory. Very rewarding.
My mother was getting older and needed help so I decided to return home and started a new business. I opened an internet service provider business. I began providing dial up internet service and website design. I turned it into the 5th largest ISP in the state. By that time I was offering high speed wireless internet. I sold the business in 2008 and became a gentleman farmer till we moved into town and retired.
I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s about that time. PD is different for everyone and I’ve been fortunate because mine is been lite. ( I can still ride my unicycle.) However it has soften my voice which I’ve been told maybe be an asset as far as a companion is concerned 😉.
I’m an avid cyclist and have ridden from boarder to boarder and ocean to ocean on solo self contained bike trips. My last tour was across America. Took three months, traveled 3300 miles, crossed 13 states and had only 6 flat tires. The random acts of kindness shown to me left a big impression. I need to write a book!
I lost my wife of 27 years 2 years ago. As you can see I’ve traveled a lot so traveling is not paramount but I’m open. I want to slow down a bit so I’m looking for someone special to share time with.
