About her
Happily retired in July 2025 after many varied jobs, experiences and travel that came with them, so I have time to do much more. My last occupation in teaching adults was the most fulfilling and I wish I'd the chance to start earlier, but after many years working with students and colleagues from all over the world I did okay.
I'm from Scotland - but have lived in the south since the age of 17. Doubt I could ever live in Scotland again - would consider a location change, though.
I am open to try most things ... enjoy walking - especially a good historical walk or art trail in town with like-minded groups- or on my own, but also calm countryside walks or doing the gardening to detox from sensory overload. I grow quite a bit in the garden and like to try new recipes from my efforts. The garden has become one of my best friends the last few years and has kept me focused. That may sound strange, but just try it.
Love to travel; the Peloponnese and Crete are favourites, as both so diverse. Certain parts of Eastern Europe are of interest, as are Norway and Finland. Washington State for their national parks and to see my daughter - is also a must. There is still so much to see in UK, though, and I do love a train journey.
Interested in doing some of the walks in Northumberland, especially St Cuthbert's Way. I would love to do these things and more with someone special again.
Enjoy my Pilates exercise at classes and at home. It's a good all round workout, more difficult than people think and keeps me flexible!
Now that I have more time, I just want to make the most of any interesting and fun opportunities that come my way.
