About him
Let's imagine, just for a moment, that you're looking for a committed relationship with someone who is rather different. Let's say (purely for the sake of argument, you understand) someone who is intelligent, articulate, self-assured, empathetic, calm, kind, thoughtful, a good listener, and entertaining and good company - just to pull a few ostensibly random qualities out of the air.
Well, now that you mention it (or was it me?), that does sound a little familiar, so perhaps I should introduce myself. I'm Cass. Not my real name, of course. Our Latin master gave us all Roman names and mine - Cassius, shortened - stuck throughout school and beyond.
I'm emotionally and materially secure, and free of significant ties. I'm a keen traveller, and I enjoy walking, reading, bridge, chess, theatre and cinema. I'm a reasonable cook - no casualties so far - and I'm famous, nay infamous, for my Margaritas!
I've an eclectic professional background in asset management, urban regeneration, strategic planning and personal development. Semi-retired at forty and fully at sixty-five, having established a FTSE-250 company and a fully-funded community charity.
Immersed for thirty years in emotional awareness work as an organiser, trainer and participant, and this shapes my outlook and philosophy every single day. As a result I've a strong social conscience, I'm a good communicator, and I tend to prefer meaningful conversation to small talk.
That all said, you might be surprised to learn that I'm mostly very light-hearted, laugh a lot (and make others laugh), and don't take myself too seriously. No pretence, no bull, no bling, confident but never arrogant or flashy.
Small print: I do believe that a shared philosophical outlook is important in a relationship. I’m a social and political liberal, so unlikely to hit it off with a fan of Brexit, Farage, Trump, or Netanyahu. Sorry, but always better to be honest up front.
